When to go

The best time to visit Amboseli is during the dry season, which runs from July to October and January to March. This is when the wildlife is more concentrated around water sources, and the vegetation is less dense, making it easier to spot animals.

What to expect on a game drive

A typical game drive in Amboseli lasts about three hours and is usually done early in the morning or late in the afternoon. During your drive, you’ll have the opportunity to see a wide range of animals, including elephants, lions, zebras, giraffes, and more.

Game drives are conducted all day long but the best time to see wild animals is early in the morning which starts at 6:30am till 11:30am and evening begins at 2pm till 6:30pm. During day time you can be able to see the high concentration of animals on water banks quenching their thirst.

What to pack

When packing for your safari in Amboseli, it’s essential to bring comfortable and breathable clothing, as well as sturdy shoes. You’ll also want to bring a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, insect repellent, and a camera with extra batteries and memory cards.
